Sarah's father, Captain John Larrabee (1686-1762), was captain lieutenant, or commanding officer, of Castle William (afterwards Fort Independence) in Boston Harbor for nearly 40 years. In 1710, he married Elizabeth Jordan (1689-1762), & the couple had 3 children, a son & 2 daughters. When Sarah was born on July 12, 1719, in Boston, Massachusetts, her father, John, was 33, and her mother, Elizabeth, was 30. She married Thomas Edes on December 21, 1738, in her hometown. They had eight children in 22 years. She died on May 18, 1791, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 71, and was buried there. Thomas Edes (1715-1794), was a ship joiner, or carpenter, of Boston. Thomas Edes was one of the executors of Captain Larrabee’s will.
